SANT'ANGELO IN SUMMER-TIME

In summer, in Sant’Angelo, it’s possible to enjoy some of the island’s most beautiful beaches, starting with the picturesque Istmo, in the heart of the square, embraced by the iconic tower.

The small harbor in the square is the departure point for boats that take you to Maronti Beach or Sorgeto Bay, famous for its warm thermal waters.

The little coves of Scoglio and Cava Grado are two more hidden gems nestled among the tuff cliffs, all just a short walk from us.

A must-do is snorkeling to admire the rich marine life surrounding the island, or joining a boat tour to explore hidden caves and inaccessible areas, where you can dive into Ischia’s crystal-clear waters.

Near Sant’Angelo, right on Maronti Beach, you’ll find two of the island’s most authentic thermal experiences: the **Fumarole**, a geothermal beach where the sand is naturally heated and traditional dishes are cooked directly in the fumaroles, and for those seeking authenticity, the historic **Terme di Cavascura**, one of the oldest thermal parks in the world, dating back to the first Greek colonies.

Summer is also the perfect time to experience the island’s social life: beach aperitifs at sunset, open-air concerts, and lively dance evenings animate the villages, giving visitors the chance to immerse themselves in carefree sophistication. Local festivals and traditional fairs complete the experience, making every day an opportunity to discover unique flavors, music, and colors.

SANT'ANGELO IN WINTER-TIME

Winter in Sant’Angelo offers a more authentic and immersive experience of everyday island life. Local markets and small cafés become the heart of the community, allowing visitors to observe and share the simple rhythms of daily life: from enjoying a coffee at the bar to taking a sunset stroll.

The winter months are perfect for tours and walks through Ischia’s mountains and hills, discovering unspoiled landscapes and trails immersed in nature.

A must-visit is Sorgeto Bay, whose hot water pools are a favorite spot on milder winter days for those familiar with the island. Equally unmissable is Fumarole Beach, where steam rises continuously even during the coldest months. A visit to the La Mortella Botanical Gardens is also highly recommended, as they offer unique colors and scents in this season, with camellias in bloom.

During the Christmas period, local nativity scenes, festive lights, and artisan markets lend every corner of the island a special charm.

Restaurants open in winter are highly appreciated by locals for their authentic and traditional flavors.

Events, good wine, museum visits, and exploring the most picturesque corners complete a winter that invites relaxation, slow living, and the intimate experience of Ischia in all its authenticity
